In a shocking development, a woman was found dead inside the bathroom of Chandigarh's famous Rose Garden. Local Police reached the spot after receiving the information. The woman was rushed to hospital where she was declared brought dead.
The woman is said to be 30-years-old and hails from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. As per reports, a knife was found near the body and deep injuries were found on her neck.
As of now, the police are getting forensic inputs and also scanning the CCTV cameras around.
Police officials revealed that the deceased had been living in Sarangpur, Chandigarh, for a few years. An investigation is underway and the accused will be arrested soon.
Police investigation so far has revealed that the woman had a fight with her husband and had been living separately from him for a year. Police believe that the woman was murdered by slitting her throat with a knife.
Police have sealed the bathroom and placed the woman's body in the Sector 16 mortuary and have begun investigating the matter. A purse was also found near the body.
As per reports, on Saturday noon, a tourist visiting Sector-16 Rose Garden entered the public bathroom, where she spotted a woman lying motionless on the floor. Blood was coming out of her body, and a purse was lying nearby.
She then ran out crying, and told the entire incident to traffic police. Traffic police immediately arrived. The control room was informed, and the police reached the spot.
