A case of abduction has surfaced in Mohali, where a television journalist was allegedly kidnapped by two men dressed as Nihangs on Tuesday evening. The victim, identified as Gurpiar Singh, works with Hamdard TV, a Canada-based media organisation that also operates from Mohali.

Following the report, Punjab Police launched a manhunt to trace the abducted journalist. Several teams have been deployed in Mohali and adjoining areas. Police sources said CCTV footage from nearby locations is being examined to identify the vehicle and suspects involved.
Senior officers, including the Mohali SSP, are supervising the operation. A police spokesperson said that all angles, including personal and professional disputes, are being probed. The police have appealed to the public to come forward with any information related to the abduction or sightings of the suspects.
Several media organisations have urged the authorities to act swiftly and ensure the journalist’s safe recovery. The police have, meanwhile, assured that efforts were underway to locate Gurpiar Singh and verify details about the alleged Nihang involvement.
