In the past month, over 1,200 children have been admitted to the Burdwan Medical College in West Bengal with acute respiratory infections and nine have died. Doctors claimed the fever and cough causing breathing issues are related to Respiratory Syncytial Virus and have nothing to do with Covid. Most kids admitted were below six months old and physically weak, said hospital officials.
