In a recent podcast with Shubhankar Mishra, Sunanda shared the most beautiful phase of her life, being a mother. She quoted “I am 32, I wanted to experience motherhood”. Sunanda expressed this feeling with tears in her eyes calling it a beautiful moment.
Sunanda on adopting 9 children
Sunanda Sharma, a famous Punjabi singer was seen on a podcast with Shubhankar Mishra that went live on Youtube on 5th July 2026. While sharing other parts of her life she made a big revelation saying that she is a a mother of 9 children. She informed that she has adopted 9 children and is planning to adopt more. Shubhankar earlier asked about getting married and having children, to which Sunanda replied that “I love love, but I don’t want it for myself now”. To this Sunanda added that even without being married she is experiencing the feeling of motherhood which is an emotional phase for her.
Opening up about the 9 children
The famous singer said that 2 of those children are of her brother and the rest are adopted. She adds that she is planning to adopt more children. While talking about this she says, I adopt children who really need me and who are going through a lot in life. She informs that 2 of the adopted girls are in college while 1 boy goes to a university and the rest study in school
Emotional story of a boy
With a very heavy heart, she told the story of one little boy she adopted. She said that the boy’s mother passed away a few years ago and the father decided to find a new partner. But the new partner did not want to take responsibility of the child. Leading to which the father abandoned the child. She said I adopted him last year and now he stays with his grandmother and studies in nursery. She also informed that she will be meeting him the next month when she visits her home town and will share a photograph with him on social media.
The famous singer could not afford the fees of her school in her schooling years, but says that 2 of my children are studying in that school, that makes me very proud.
A great responsibility
While talking about adopting 9 children she says it is a big responsibility. Giving example of the boy who studies in nursery, she says “I have to fund his education till he graduates and becomes mature enough to handle his things. I have 9 such children. I have to be strong to handle of them. I can’t cry and become weak”
Marriage of a girl
She also revealed that she and her few friends planned the wedding of her bestfriend’s maid’s daughter. She told being responsible for someone’s marriage is another proud moment. Talking about this she said one was responsible for the dowry while others took charge of makeup, clothes, jewelery etc. and executed the wedding.
