Fashion influencer and social media personality Urfi Javed has strongly denied allegations that she accepted ₹1 lakh to support the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest, saying she is prepared to deactivate her Instagram account and give up all her sources of income if anyone can prove the claim.

What did her Instagram story say?

I will let go of all my income sources," she said, maintaining that the allegations against her are completely false. In her story she also mentioned Faizan Ansari as “Media Hungry”

Celebrity hits at Hindustan times

The actor also hit out at Hindustan Times, questioning why the publication chose to report allegations made by Faizan Ansari without independently verifying them. Expressing disappointment, Urfi said, "How can you support such sources like Faizan Ansari?" She accused the publication of damaging her reputation by amplifying unverified claims.

Lost brand deals because of the allegation

According to Urfi, the article has had a serious impact on her professional life. She claimed that several brands have withdrawn collaborations after the report was published and alleged that she is no longer receiving commercial opportunities.

"I have lost all my brands. No brand wants to work with me after this article," she said, adding that the report has caused both financial and reputational damage.

Called the celebrity ‘Transgender’

Urfi further accused Faizan Ansari of spreading false information about her. Calling him a "liar," she also objected to being referred to as a transgender in connection with the controversy, describing the remark as defamatory and misleading.

Where does the controversy stem from?

The controversy stems from a Hindustan Times report that quoted allegations made by Faizan Ansari in a complaint. According to the report,it alleged that activist Abhijeet Dipke and the CJP had paid several celebrities to support the protest movement.

The report cited Ansari as alleging that "Uorfi Javed took ₹1 lakh and Poonam Pandey took ₹20,000" to support the protests. It also mentioned that while Urfi did not participate in the protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, she had publicly expressed solidarity with the youth movement through social media and had questioned the authorities' handling of the July 20 protests.

Denied all allegations

Urfi has now categorically denied ever accepting money to support the protests and has demanded concrete evidence to substantiate the allegations. As of now, neither Hindustan Times nor Faizan Ansari has publicly responded to her latest Instagram statements.
