If you have watched Dhurandhar then you must have noticed the beautiful Mansion of Hamza Ali Mazari, the indomitable, Indian spy character played by Ranveer Singh. The beautiful white Mansion with white interiors with a combination of soft subtle lightings became the epic center of the movie. As one of the major intense and action sequences were filmed in this Mansion.
Well the lavish mansion is a property built and situated in Amritsar, Punjab. The property is Ananda Villa, which goes viral after appearing in Dhurandhar 2 as Hamza’s Karachi Mansion, where he lived with Yalina and Zayan.
The property first appeared in the film when Hamza gifted it to Yalina, while she was pregnant, a scene which resonated a close bond between the couple. Another iconic sequence is when Pinda confronts Hamza with the dialogue ‘Ghar ki yaad nai aai tujay Jassi!’ meaning, 'didn't you miss your home Jassi?.’
This confrontation between the two and their fight scene was filmed in the restroom of the same Ananda Villa.
Another major sequence was the, filmed right after the dramatic confrontation scene, when it came to the notice that Pinda was dead. This sequence witnessed the most intense and also the most heart wrenching and patriotic moment of the film. In this scene, Hamza said it aloud as he claimed “Hamza Ali Mazari ka ghar hai ye” meaning, this house belongs to Hamza Ali Mazari. In this scene, Hamza lost his most trust in his partner, his father figure Alam bhai, a character played by Gaurav Gera.
Another intense emotional sequence of the film that was shot in Ananda Villa was, when Yaina confronts Hamza, questioning him about his real identity.
There were more such sequences, like grown up boy Zayan playing in the green garden of the property. Yalina’s scene with the Pakistani investigating officer was also shot in the same Amritsar’s property.
Ananda Villa, Amritsar’s 20,000 sq ft luxury property, designed by 23DC Architects was completed in 2024. Set on a sprawling 1-acre plot, the villa is a blend of modern and traditional design, featuring black marble staircase, a 25-ft Singhasana fire pit, an infinity pool circumferenced with banana groves, open courtyards, starlit dining areas, and lush gardens.
