The Chandigarh District Court has issued summons to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, his sister Alvira Khan Agnihotri, Style Quotient Jewellery Pvt. Ltd., and others. The court has directed all of them to appear on October 5, 2026.
The businessman who filed the complaint claims he met Salman Khan on the sets of Bigg Boss. According to him, Salman made certain promises regarding the launch of a Being Human Jewellery showroom, but did not fulfill them. The complainant alleges that he invested around ₹3 crore, leading to significant financial losses.
Met Salman Khan on the Bigg Boss Set, Submitted Conversation Clip to Police
Complainant Arun Gupta claims that he met Salman Khan on the sets of Bigg Boss in Mumbai in 2018. He alleges that during this meeting, he was encouraged to open an exclusive Being Human Jewellery showroom in Chandigarh.
According to the complaint, he was assured that Salman Khan would personally inaugurate the showroom and actively promote the brand. Gupta also claims he submitted video clips and photographs of the meeting and conversation to the police during the investigation.
Franchise Agreement Signed in August 2018, Showroom Opened in November
The complaint states that on August 3, 2018, a franchise agreement (MoU) was signed with Style Quotient Jewellery Pvt. Ltd. Following this, an exclusive Being Human Jewellery showroom was established in Chandigarh's Manimajra area at an estimated investment of ₹3 crore, including around ₹1 crore spent on setting up the showroom.
Gupta says he fulfilled all the company's requirements and stocked the showroom with Being Human jewellery products.
Salman Khan Did Not Attend the Launch; Ayush Sharma Inaugurated It
The complainant alleges that Salman Khan was expected to inaugurate the showroom but did not attend. Instead, actor Ayush Sharma inaugurated the outlet on November 3, 2018.
Gupta claims that the promised level of promotion and brand support was never provided.
Allegation: Misled Into Opening the Showroom
The complaint accuses six individuals associated with the company of misleading him into opening the franchise. It alleges that after the showroom began operations, the company failed to provide the promised support.
According to Gupta, the office responsible for supplying Being Human jewellery shut down in February 2020, resulting in the stoppage of fresh stock. This severely impacted the business, eventually forcing the showroom to close.
Matter Reached Police; Salman Sent Reply
After failing to receive relief from the company, Arun Gupta filed a complaint with the Chandigarh Police in July 2021, accusing Salman Khan, Alvira Khan, company directors, and others of cheating and inducing him to invest based on false assurances.
Police sought responses from the accused. The complainant claims that Salman Khan submitted his reply via email in 2021 after receiving the police notice. As no resolution was reached, Gupta later approached the district court.
Company's Stand
Following the allegations, Style Quotient Jewellery Pvt. Ltd. stated that Salman Khan had no direct involvement in the 2018 franchise agreement.
The company clarified that it had obtained a licence in 2015 to sell jewellery under the Being Human brand and that all franchise operations, sales, and business management were solely the company's responsibility. It maintained that the dispute is strictly between the company and the franchise operator.

The Chandigarh District Court has directed Salman Khan, Alvira Khan, and the other accused to appear before the court on October 5, 2026, to present their side.
