A political controversy has erupted within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) after the party’s national spokesperson Anurag Dhanda launched a sharp attack on Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha, questioning his approach and alleged silence on key national issues.
Dhanda said that AAP leaders are “soldiers of Arvind Kejriwal” and fearlessness is their primary identity. He questioned Chadha’s stance, saying, “If someone gets scared of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, how will they fight for the country?”
Taking a dig at Chadha’s participation in Parliament, Dhanda remarked that parties get very limited time to speak in the House, and that time should be used to raise critical national issues rather than trivial matters. “You either fight to save the country or talk about getting cheaper samosas at airport canteens,” he said.
He further criticised Chadha for allegedly remaining silent on important developments, including the reported arrest of hundreds of AAP workers in Gujarat ahead of local elections. Dhanda questioned whether Chadha raised the issue in Parliament.
Referring to West Bengal, Dhanda alleged that people’s voting rights were being suppressed and accused Chadha of refusing to sign a proposal against the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC). He also claimed that while the party staged a walkout in Parliament, Chadha chose to remain present.
In a direct remark, Dhanda said, “For the past few years, you have become fearful, Raghav. You hesitate to speak against Modi and avoid raising real issues of the country.”
