The demand for Vande Bharat Express has been skyrocketed ever since it has witnessed passengers lining up to travel in Indian Railways' Train 2.0. A city or district of India getting a stoppage of Vande Bharat Express is now seen as a matter of prestige for that particular station. Now, New Delhi-Bikaner Vande Bharat Express is now turning into a reality.
As per reports, Bikaner-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express has got Indian Railways' official nod. The train is expected to run between Bikaner and Delhi Cantt via Churu. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has formally given the nod, following a request from Union Law Minister and Bikaner MP, Arjunram Meghwal.
Bikaner-Delhi Vande Bharat Express service is expected to commence in September, 2025.
On 5 August, MP Meghwal submitted a formal letter to the Railway Minister, urging for this connection. Currently, five trains operate between the two cities, with travel times ranging between 7 and 11.5 hours. The Bikaner-Delhi Vande Bharat, however, will reduce this journey to just 6 hours and 15 minutes, offering a faster and more comfortable option.
As per reports, Bikaner-Delhi Vande Bharat will depart Bikaner at 5:45 a.m. and reach Delhi Cantt at 11:50 a.m., covering 448 kilometres. On the return journey, it will leave Delhi Cantt at 4:45 p.m. and arrive in Bikaner at 11:00 p.m. The train is expected to halt at Churu, though the duration of the stop and additional halts are yet to be confirmed.
The train will be equipped with GPS technology, enabling real-time tracking via mobile apps. Security will be enhanced with CCTV cameras, while vacuum-based bio-toilets, similar to those found in aircraft, will ensure hygiene. Coaches will also feature emergency push buttons for added safety.
