India's first artificial beach is set to launch in This city— Here’s all you need to know

This Artificial Beach will be facilitated with landscaped parks, cycling tracks, food courts, entertainment zones, playgrounds, decorative fountains, and a theater zone.

A historic development, Hyderabad will soon have India's first artificial beach, revolutionizing the city's tourism and recreation scenario. The government of Telangana has sanctioned a mega project to develop a 35-acre artificial beach at Kotwal Guda on the outskirts of Hyderabad, and work is expected to start in December 2025. The project cost is estimated at ₹225 crore and will be done under a public-private partnership model, marking a new era in urban tourism for this landlocked city.

A coastal experience in the city

This ambitious venture is intended to give Hyderabad's citizens and visitors a beach experience by the coast without having to go hundreds of kilometers away from natural beaches. The center of the complex will be a man-made lake that will have wave-making technology built in to create sea-like waves. The sandy areas alongside the lake will bring about the normal beach atmosphere, with water sports rides and wave pools built in to add excitement.

An eco-friendly initiative

This artificial beach resort in Hyderabad will feature a range of features like floating villas, luxury hotels, adventure sports facilities like bungee jumping, sailing, and beach volleyball. Family-friendly facilities will comprise landscaped parks, cycling tracks, food courts, entertainment zones, playgrounds, decorative fountains, and a theater zone. The project focuses on eco-friendly construction and sustainable development patterns to reduce the impact on the environment.

Strategic influence of the perfect location

Kotwal Guda is selected as the location because it is accessible through the Outer Ring Road and has enough space for mass development. This will allow the tourist to directly reach their destination without getting stuck in the city's busy roads.

This man-made beach is likely to hike urban tourism, offering a new weekend resort to residents and boasting Telangana's total tourism income. Officials believe this flagship project will place Hyderabad firmly on the global tourism map, attracting both domestic and international visitors, and offering new opportunities for travel agents and corporate event planners alike.

While Dubai is well-known for its world-famous artificial beaches such as those on Palm Jumeirah, Hyderabad will be the first city in India to launch an artificial beach resort. The new initiative brings together the latest technology with entertainment, thrill, and ecological consciousness to provide a unique recreational facility in the nation.
