Jalandhar weather update: Rainfall, temperatures and complete weather forecast for this week

Scattered and continuous rainfall in Jalandhar this week may lead to waterlogging in low-lying areas, under passes and on connecting roads.

Jalandhar city is still witnessing monsoon downpours this week with irregular to moderate showers. The same type of weather is predicted as per weather forecast during the next few days. 

Rainfall outlook

Heavy rainfall is forecasted according to the AccuWeather Red warning. In particular the weather today is significant cloudiness with persistent rain becoming occasional with 27 degrees with partly cloudy weather at night.

Jalandhar is experiencing wind of ESE 25 km/h with gusts of wind at 51km/h.

According to forecasts rainfall can resume at about 12 at noon and from 5PM-6 PM.

Likewise according to the forecast report, rainfall is expected till September 4.

Rain shower activity can be expected to continue with showers on the majority of days at times turning heavy with thunderstorms and strong winds. This week there will be scattered rain which could result in waterlogging in low-lying areas as well as minor traffic congestion. 

Advisories are issued for farmers, requested to take special precautions particularly those with standing crops.

Temperature trends

Day temperatures are expected to remain from 27 to 34 degree celsius, with humidity. At night the temperatures are expected to remain comparatively lower, with temperatures ranging between 23 degree to 27 degree celsius. Also as Himachal witnessed season's first snowfall, pleasant chills can be sensed in the air, with speculations of winters approaching a bit early this year.

Scattered and continuous rains in Jalandhar and the areas around caused distress to the normal residents facing difficulties to reach their work places. Jalandhar residents are advised to keep their raincoats and precautionary measures if travelling by two wheelers. Residents are advised to leave early from their places as there may be water logging at certain key roads and underpasses making the possibility of vehicles getting stuck or damaged due to excessive water on streets. 

Traveling in such weather is not encouraged, people should avoid unnecessary traveling. Citizens are requested to stay safe and vigilant on the forecast report for the weather updates and plan the days accordingly.
