PM Modi during a rally in Bihar outlined how Channi during a road show said that he will not let the people of Bihar enter Punjab

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday addressed a rally in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. PM Modi joined the BJP's election campaign as Bihar is all set to undergo elections. While addressing the rally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the name of former Punjab Chief Minister and current Jalandhar MP Charanjit Singh Channi.

PM Modi outlined how Channi during a road show said that he will not let the people of Bihar enter Punjab. PM Modi also outlined that while Channi made this remark, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra happily clapped.

"There was a Chief Minister of Punjab from Congress. During a rally he openly announced that he will let people of Bihar enter Punjab. Not only this, a daughter of Gandhi family happily clapped. Nowadays she sits in the Parliament," said PM Modi.

What did Charanjit Singh Channi say on people of UP and Bihar?

Channi, while addressing a roadshow during Punjab Election campaign, had said, "Priyanka Gandhi is the daughter-in-law of Punjab. Will not let the Uttar Pradesh, Bihar de bhaiye, who have come here to rule, enter the state."

While he made the remark, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi was seen standing by him smiling and applauding.

Following that Channi distanced himself from the remark and clarified, "My statement is being distorted. All the migrants who have come to Punjab have put their sweat and blood into the development of the state..I have a close relationship with them [migrants]."
