Former Team India cricketer Shikhar Dhawan on Monday announced his engagement with girlfriend Sophie Shine. Shikhar Dhawan, 40, took to his Instagram handle and shared a romantic post in which a big diamond ring in the finger of Sophie Shine was visible.
In a joint statement, the couple wrote, "From shared smiles to shared dreams. Grateful for the love, the blessings and every good wish for our engagement as we choose togetherness forever. Shikhar & Sophie."
Reacting to Shikhar Dhawan and Sophie Shine's engagement post, Hardy Sandhu wrote, "Mubaarkan. God bless you with happiness and happiness only."
Notably, it will be the second time Shikhar Dhawan will be getting married. Before this, Shikhar was married to Aesha Mukherjee, an Australian kickboxer, whom he married in 2012. Shikhar and Ayesha's divorce was a talking point when it happened.
A Delhi Court granted divorce to cricketer Shikhar Dhawan on grounds of "cruelty" inflicted on the cricketer by his estranged wife Aesha Dhawan. Aesha and Shikhar have a son named Zoraver.

Sophie Shine attended College at Castletroy College which is in Ireland. She started her career as a Financial Operations Supervisor in Debenhams in Ireland. Thereafter, she has continued to work in similar fields for various other companies. Currently, she is staying in UAE and working there as well.
