The Punjab government on Thursday gave additional charge of chief director of the state vigilance bureau to director general of police (DGP) Sidharth Chattopadhyaya after the incumbent, BK Uppal, proceeded on one-month leave.
It was learnt that BK Uppal had proceeded on one month’s leave amid reports that he will be replaced. Uppal on Sept 29 sent the leave application to Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi.
