3 lakh school students participate in competitions dedicated to 400th Parkash Purb of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji: Vijay Inder Singla

Mr. Vijay Inder Singla said that the government school heads, teachers and parents of the students have worked hard to motivate the students to participate and excel in these competitions.

Punjab School Education Minister Mr. Vijay Inder Singla,on Sunday, said that to celebrate the 400th Parkash Purb of Guru Tegh Bahadurji, the state government has been organizing several programs and the educationdepartment has also been taking part actively in these programs. The cabinetminister said that the education department has continuously been organizingturban tying, Shabad Gayan, Poem Reciting, Speech competition, PPT making,songs singing, poster making, painting, slogan writing, instrument playing andcalligraphy competitions in the government schools across the state. He addedthat as many as 3 lakh students of government schools have participated inthese competitions with religious zeal and fervor.

The cabinet minister informed that in the first half ofFebruary, the school education department oragnised speech competitions ingovernment schools regarding the sacrifice, writings and preaching of Guru TeghBahadur ji. He added that during lockdown, the department had also organized 11online competitions for government school students to make them aware of theteachings of the ninth Guru. He said that these competitions were being heldfrom school level to state level with an aim to nurture the personality skillsof the students apart from improving their religious knowledge.

Mr. Vijay Inder Singla said that the government schoolheads, teachers and parents of the students have worked hard to motivate thestudents to participate and excel in these competitions. He added that it was amatter of pride for them that the education department has always played avital role in the success of the programs and schemes launched by theirgovernment.
