While people on social media are slamming the Bollywood film industry over its silence on the ongoing farmer's protest and hailing Hollywood for speaking, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has finally broken his silence. Ever since Hollywood pop-star Rihanna came in support of farmers and asked why there are no discussions going on the farmer's issue? A number of Hollywood celebrities came in support of farmers and slammed the Modi government.
Following this people on social media started trolling and slamming the Bollywood industry for remaining silent on the issues of farmers. The buzz became so global that the Ministry of External Affairs had to release an official statement. In it;s statement the MEA said, "” Temptation of sensationalist social media hashtags and comments, especially when resorted to by celebrities and others, is neither accurate nor responsible”. “Before rushing to comment on such matters, we would urge that the facts be ascertained, and a proper understanding of the issues at hand be undertaken," MEA added.
Now, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar took to Twitter and slammed the Hollywood celebrities who are taking sides without even knowing the facts. Akshay also urged the people of India to not pay attention to people from outside India who are trying to create differences. Akshay wrote, "Farmers constitute an extremely important part of our country. And the efforts being undertaken to resolve their issues are evident. Let’s support an amicable resolution, rather than paying attention to anyone creating differences."
