Alert issued for 14 districts of Punjab, There will be rain along with thunderstorm

There has been a continuous change in the weather in the Punjab for the last few days, but since yesterday there has been a slight change in the weather

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has predicted rain in the entire state today. The department has also issued a yellow alert for 14 districts, where there is a possibility of thunderstorm along with rain.

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, SAS Nagar, Fathehgarh sahib, Muktsar, Bathinda and Mansa today. Thunderstorm has been predicted at these places. However,the department also believes that the effects of the today’s rain will be seen more in many areas of Majha and Doaba, while light rain may also occur in Malwa. Along with this, strong winds can blow at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. Similarly, the Department has announced to keep Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar and SAS closed tomorrow. A yellow alert has been issued for the city. Along with rain, strong winds and storms are also predicted here.

The weather is expected to remain clear in most areas of Malwa. Acoording to thr department, a slight drop in temperature can be recorded in the coming days. The western disturbance that became active on March 9 initially affected the hilly regions but has now started impacting Punjab. As a result, the IMD has issued a rain and storm warning across the state, which is expected to persist until March 16. During this period, Punjab's temperature is anticipated to drop by 2-3°C, providing some relief from the rising heat.
