PunjabChief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Tuesday told the newly constitutedstate Congress leadership that all the key issues of concern raised by themwere already in advanced stages of resolution by his government, which had beenworking on them in close coordination with the party.
Thenew PPCC leadership team, led by Navjot Sidhu, had called on the Chief Ministerand submitted a letter listing out some issues as needing urgent settlement.PPCC working presidents Kuljit Singh Nagra, Sangat Singh Gilzian, SukhwinderSingh Danny and Pawan Goel had accompanied Sidhu to their first meeting withthe Chief Minister since taking over the state Congress reins.
Notingthat his government had already implemented most of the promises made to thepeople in the 2107 party election manifesto, the Chief Minister told theparty’s state leadership that the other pending issues were also beingresolved.
Hisgovernment was committed to the implementation of all the poll promises,Captain Amarinder later said, describing the meeting as cordial.
Stressingthe need to work closely together in the interest of the party, the ChiefMinister told the Punjab Congress president and working presidents that “yourwin is my win and our win is the party’s win, and we need to work together inthe interest of the state and its people.”
CaptainAmarinder said the party leaders and workers need to take the pro-peopledecisions and actions of the government to the ground, so that the people ofPunjab could be made aware of all the excellent work done in the past 4+ yearsof the Congress government in the state.
TheChief Minister offered to meet the PPCC leaders on regular basis to ensurebetter coordination between the government and the party.
