Confidentover winning with huge margins in ongoing assembly elections, Union HomeMinister BJP leader Amit Shah on Sunday said as per reports from the workers onground, the BJP will win 26 of the 30 seats in West Bengal, while 37 of 47seats in Assam.
Speakingto the media persons during a press conference at his residence, Amit Shah saidthat despite covid situation huge number of voters came out to cast their votesand we thank voters for their mandate. “We are confident BJP will win withgreat margins”, he said.
Healso expressed gratitude towards the Election Commission (EC) for conductingpeaceful elections in Assam and violence-prone West Bengal.
"Peoplein West Bengal are unhappy with the (Mamata Banerjee) government. They votedfor change in 2011 but nothing changed. The BJP has under the leadership ofPrime Minister is committed to 'Sonar Bangla'," he said.
Shahalso claimed that women voted in favour of his party. He noted that it was forfirst time that West Bengal witnessed violence-free polls.
"Aftermany years, no incidents of violence were reported and I thank the ElectionCommission for conducting a peaceful election," he said.
InAssam, people voted for the BJP for development and for the commitment for aflood free state, he said, claiming 37 seats out of the 47 would go to the BJP.
Hethanked voters of both the states for voting for the BJP. "The massiveturnout of shows enthusiasm among voters," he said.
