The Punjab Government has recruited 117 VeterinaryOfficers in the Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries Department ofthe state under the door-to-door employment program. Mr. Tript Rajinder SinghBajwa, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries Minister handed overappointment letters to the newly appointed Veterinary Officers at Live StockBhawan here today.
Congratulating the newly appointed veterinaryofficers on the occasion Mr. Bajwa said that the Punjab government under theleadership of Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh was committed to provideemployment to maximum number of youth in the state. He said that with thedeployment of new officers the work of the Animal Husbandry Department wouldget more impetus and the cattle breeders would get better services.
The Animal Husbandry Minister said that the serviceof doctors working in the Animal Husbandry Department were greater than theservice of the doctors treating the human beings as they treat the speechlesswho cannot express their pains in words. He also said that the Animal HusbandryDepartment was providing the best breeds and foreign semen which significantlyincreases the milk production.
On this occasion Additional Chief Secretary ofAnimal Husbandry Department V. K. Janjuya said that the Animal HusbandryDepartment was taking several new initiatives for the betterment of thelivestock of the farmers so that the dairy farming sector could be furtherdeveloped in the state and made more profitable for the people. He further saidthat the welfare schemes for the dairy farmers were being implemented smoothlyand more efforts would be made to provide best services at ground level.
Others prominent present on the occasion includedDr. H. S. Kahlon Joint Director Animal Husbandry and Dr. Sarabjit SinghRandhawa, President Punjab State Veterinary Officers Association and othersenior officers of the department were also present.
