Raveena Tandon and Parambrata Chattopadhyay are the central characters.

Raveena Tandon made her OTT debut withthe web show Aranyak.  Tandon, who will be seen playing a cop namedKasturi Dogra, seems to be the show-stealer, assuming from the actress’excitement.

The rape and gruesome death of 19-year-oldAimee (Anastasiya Hamolka), the daughter of a French Tourist, Julie Baptiste(Breshna Khan), rakes up the rumour of the Nartendua who apparently hadterrorized the town years earlier when it killed nine girls.

In the Netflix drama, Aranyak opens up withRaveena Tandon who wishes to go on a long holiday, but, due to the murder of aFrench tourist, Aimee, she was appointed on a new big case. The story is set inthe cold and picturesque hill station called Sironah, somewhere in North India.

As Kasturi and Angad begin investigation, theevidences lead to Jagdamba’s son Kanti. Kanti (Tejasvi Dev) is out onparole on rape charges. Meghna Malik was playing the role of politician JagdambaDhumal, who tries to save her son in every way possible. Kuber Manhas (ZakirHussain) was the political advisor of Jagdamba. He wishes to win the Rajya Sabha'sseat and build a resort in a sensitive forest area.

The story aims at exposing drug rackets runby these big politicians, bureaucrats and other big authorities in the series. Setacross eight long episodes, Aranyak keeps you hooked to its very end.

While the plot of this Netflix series withpolitical ploys, personal agendas and the myth of the murderous entity are allintriguing, the premise and the setting of the tale appear oft-seen andfamiliar. One for sure is the series 'Candy' streaming on Voot.

But, the storyline is much stronger than ‘Candy’and Aranyak, also, have a better theme, plot and a great cast in the series.
