Former Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh strikes back at Congress leaders alleging his Pakistani friend Aroosa Alam’s link with ISI.
Mocking leaders over the issue, Capt Amarinder posted a “series of pictures of Mrs Aroosa Alam with various dignitaries.”
The statement comes amid the verbal spat between the senior politician Capt Amarinder and Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa. Earlier, speaking about security threatsin Punjab, Dy CM Randhawa demanded the probe into Aroosa Alam’s alleged links with ISI.
Aroosa Alam is a Pakistani defence journalist, who shares a tight friendship with ex-CM Singh. Alam’s several photographs with Pakistan top military officials often do rounds on theinternet.
Randhawa’s statement was also based on these photographs.
While taking a stand for his Pakistani friend, Capt Amrinder on Facebook said, “I am posting a series of pictures of Mrs Aroosa Alam with various dignitaries. I suppose they are allalso contacts of the ISI. Those who say so should think before speaking.”
“Unfortunately visas are banned at the moment between India and Pakistan. Otherwise, I would invite her again,” added Capt, mocking his rival over the allegation of “whosponsored visa to Aroosa Alam.”
He also mentioned his and Mrs Alam’s age, which could be a reply to those alleging Capt and Mrs Alam are more than “just friends.”
“Incidentally I am going to be 80 in March and Mrs Alam 69 next year. Narrow mindedness seems to be order of the day.”
Notably, on Saturday Navjot Kaur Sidhu, Punjab PCC head Navjot Singh Sidhu’s wife had passed controversial comments on Capt Amarinder and Ms Alam. She said that “Aroosa Alamwas DGP of Punjab under Captain Sahab rules” adding “Capt should retire and enjoy with Alam in Pakistan."
Retaliating to all his rivals, Captain Amarinder shared pictures of Aroosa Alam with dignitaries like Sonia Gandhi, late Smt Sushma Swaraj, Mulayam Singh Yadav, union law minister AshwaniKumar, Mahesh Bhatt, Dilip Kumar and others.
