Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhat’s starer ‘Brahmastra’has made it to the headlines quite often, the public is too excited to watchthe star couple on screen. Meanwhile, the director of the movie Ayan Mukerji releaseda new BTS video on Wednesday, presenting the mythos of their upcoming film andalso introducing various ‘astras’ which will be featured alongside themegastars.
Ayan posted a video on his Instagram handle withthe caption, “While Bramhastra is a work of fiction, and my attempt has been tocelebrate Indian spirituality, in my own way, through this movie.” Further, he added, “On this very auspicious dayof Guru Purnima, I wanted to share a little more in-depth about the concept ofBramhastra – a movie through which I personally found myself transforming intoa forever-student of the infinite wisdom that exists in our ancient Indianroots. Hope you guys enjoy our imagination! #astraverse.”
Through the video, Ayan presents the premise ofBramhastra which begins in an ancient world. The visual begins with an imagefrom a mystical time in ancient India, where ‘Brahmansh’ a group of sages, arein deep meditation in the Himalayas, after which they are blessed with ‘TheLight of the Universe.’
Further, the description from the plot comes in away that these sages, for centuries, continue to exist as a ‘secret society’alongside humanity. Ayan elaborates further on this by saying, “This puts us ina unique position as no one has done what we are doing with ancient Indianinspiration, in the modern world, ever.”
Ayan has dissected the various ‘astras’ which arethe key elements of his upcoming film. The filmmaker shared that ‘astras’ arethose weapons that are based on the four elements of matter- fire, earth, wind,and water with an exquisite ability to harness the power of animals like bullsand monkeys. However, the greatest among all the astras is Bramhastra, as itcarries the essence of all four astras mentioned above.
The filmmaker explains, “These sages vow toprotect these astras and as the guardians of Bramhastra, they name themselvesBrahmansh, a secret society which will exist amongst other men, and does goodfor the world with the power of these astras. Time moves forward humanity proceedsahead and so the Bramhastra as well.”
Ayan then introduced the viewers to ‘Shiva’, theprotagonist of this mythological plot, portrayed by Ranbir. He says, “in the worldof astras he is a miracle because he is an astra himself.”
The trailer of ‘Bramhastra’ received a warmresponse from the netizens for the spectacular visuals and the super interestingplot of the story. All praise was for Ayan for his efforts to present somethingnew that the majority of the audience would have never experienced before.
It is a 3 part film and will be released allacross India, across five different languages – Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam,and Kannada. Besides, the movie also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, andNagarjuna Akkineni in the lead roles.
The upcoming mythological film has been in theheadlines from the very first day it was announced. It took the makers of thefilm four years to start production after all these days and delays the filmwill finally hit the big screen pan India on September, 9th in 2Dand 3D.
