The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)announced the ‘squad’ for the World Test Championship final against New Zealandand the England Test Series on Friday in which significant players’ have madereturn.
Notably, Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah have made a startling comeback along with Hanuma Vihari, who missed the Test series againstEngland due to an injury. Though, Vihari would be seen on sides only.
The BCCI dropped the list on Twitter in which the name of KLRahul and Wriddhiman Saha were also included however, their participation in thematches would be “subject to fitness clearance.”
In this latest squad announced, Hardik Pandya andleg-spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who were part of the home Test series againstEngland has been shown the way out along with fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
The list also includes the names of four standby players—AbhimanyuEaswaran, Prasidh Krishna, Avesh Khan, Arzan Nagwaswalla. These players will gowith the squad to England.
The upcoming four-month-long cricket tour will commencewith the World Test Championship against New Zealand on June 18 in Southampton.While the five-test series against England is scheduled to be played fromAugust 4 in Nottingham.
For the second test match, the team will have to moveLondon at the Lord’s from August 12 to 16. The third test will be played in Leedsat Headingley from August 25 to 29, while the remaining two matches will beplayed at the Oval, London, and the Old Trafford stadium in Manchester fromSeptember 2-6 and September 10-14 respectively.
