Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Mayor, LIT Chairman take up development issues with local body minister

Urges Minister to launch OTS Scheme regarding building bylaws, also congratulates Brahm Mohindra for thumping victory in recently held MC elections

Adelegation led by Punjab Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs MinisterBharat Bhushan Ashu, Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu and Ludhiana Improvement Trustchairman Raman Balasubramaniam today held a meeting with Local Bodies MinisterBrahm Mohindra at Chandigarh. In the meeting, the leaders took up severalissues related to the ongoing development of Ludhiana city.

Theleaders also urged the local bodies minister that in a bid to provide maximumbenefit to people residing in urban areas, the department should launch OneTime Settlement (OTS) scheme pertaining to building bylaws immediately.

BharatBhushan Ashu informed that several issues related to the development projectsof Ludhiana city need to be addressed on priority basis. He said that LocalBodies Minister Brahm Mohindra was apprised of these issues, who directed thesenior officials of Local Bodies department to address them on priority basis.

Ashusaid that the Capt Amarinder Singh led Punjab government is committed tocarrying out overall development in Ludhiana city and that work on projectsworth thousands of crores is already underway.

Theleaders also congratulated the Cabinet Minister over the thumping victory ofthe Congress party in recently held MC elections. They said that this victoryis a testimony of the pro-development agenda of the Congress-led Punjabgovernment.

Today’smeeting was also attended by AK Sinha, Secretary, Local Bodies Punjab, PuneetGoyal, Director, Local Government, Ajoy Sharma, CEO, Punjab MunicipalInfrastructure Development Company, and other senior officials.
