Bizarre: Kerala police receives unusual e-pass request stating “need to go out for sex”

Ever since the pandemic hit India,people have been asked to practice social distancing, wear face masks, go outwhen necessary, etc. To tackle the situation, the states’ Police have to makesure that people are stepping out of the house only when necessary.

Amidst the lockdown, an intra-state travel banhas also been enforced and if in case one needs to visit within the state for urgency, hehas to get an e-pass for the same. People have been sending their e-passrequests to the police officials to able to commute. In all such requests,there comes many which are hilarious and leave the officials in quandary.

In one such incident, the Kerala Police hasreceived a bizarre request from a man who required an e-pass to step out ofhome for “sex”. Reportedly, the man has been identified as a resident ofIrinave in Kannur’s Kannapuram sought an e-pass stating “need to go out forsex.”According to the reports, the man wanted to visit Kannur in the evening.

However, when the application was reviewed bythe officials, the Assistant Commissioner of Police had instructed his team tokeep an eye out on the individual. Later the man was arrested and brought tothe police station for interrogation.

Clearing his stance, the man revealed that itwas a typo and did not correct the spellings before dispatching the e-passrequest. He further added that his intention was to write “six o clock” insteadof “sex.”

Later, his apology was accepted by theofficials and the man was released. The police further instructed him to notapply for an e-pass for non-essential purposes.
