BJP and AAP are the two sides of the same coin: Jakhar

Defeat anti-farmer forces to pay tribute to martyred farmers

“The sacrifice of over 700 farmers who attained martyrdom during farmers’ agitation should not go in vain,” stated former president of Punjab Congress and chief of Congress Election Campaign Committee, Sunil Jakhar.

Jakhar, along with media and communication in-charge of Punjab Congress, Pawan Khera and congress leader who was the founder member of AAP, Himanshu Pathak, was addressing the media at Punjab Congress headquarters in Chandigarh. Jakhar stated that the best tribute that one can pay to these martyr farmers is to defeat the anti-farmer forces in this assembly election.

While addressing the media, Pathak said that Bharatiya Janta Party and Aam Aadmi Party are the two sides of the same coin. Pathak showed the official website of AAP and said that this clearly shows that AAP is fighting against BJP, not against Modi.

Calling AAP a double faced party, Pathak said that the AAP had given their buses to Delhi police for arresting the farmers during agitation. “Even the chargesheet, on the cases filed by the Delhi Police against the farmers, was presented by the lawyers of the Delhi government. They were the first ones to implement black farm laws,” he said.

Jakhar added that where BJP and AAP are the two sides of the same coin, Shiromani Akali Dal is also closely associated with BJP. Therefore, if you cast your vote to any of these parties, the vote will be in the favour of BJP only.

He appealed to select the party wisely and before casting the vote just keep in mind that SAD was partnered with BJP in bringing three farm laws.

Talking about the situation in Karnataka, Jakhar said that the BJP government of the state was stopping a community there from wearing their religious attire. “This is enough to understand the ideology of BJP and if they come to power in Punjab, they can even restrict Sikhs from wearing turban,” he said and added that people of all religion and castes reside together in Punjab and such activities will not be tolerated here.
