Shazia Ilmi, Vice President of Bharatiya Janta Party's(BJP) at Delhi has registered a First Information Report (FIR) against BSP MPAkbar Ahmad 'Dumpy' for misbehaving with her.
Reportedly, the incident is alleged to have happenedduring a dinner hosted by Cetan Seth in Vasant Kujh. Sections 506 (threatening),509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of woman) have beeninvoked in the FIR against Akbar Ahmad Dumpy.
Whilespeaking to the Indian Express, Ilmi told, “I don’t want to publicise thismatter. I have filed a complaint against Ahmad for harassing and misbehavingwith me. Chetan Seth and family members tried to stop him, but he wasconstantly humiliating me. He was abusing in Hindi. I want to make an example,people should not get away.”
Appropriate legal action will be taken, says Ingit PratapSingh, DCP (South-west). A senior officer was quoted by The Indian Express, “Around9.30 pm, she was discussing farm laws and trade prospects between India andSouth America. She alleged in her statement that Ahmad was making snidecomments against the Prime Minister and the BJP.”
Ilmi in her complained has claimed that she was invitedto a dinner engagement at Vasant Kujh where several ambassadors were alsopresent.
“She alleged that Ahmad started abusing but she ignoredhim. When she sat for dinner, she alleged, he again passed filthy remarks. Sheagain ignored him and instead continued to interact with internationaldignitaries,” added the officer.
The officer added, “In her complaint, she wrote thataround 11 pm, she found that he was verbally violent and screaming outexpletives while sitting across from her." Ilmi said she was crying when she felt andforeign dignitaries too were shocked. “She left for her home and later filed acomplaint at CR Park police station against him.”
