In a big relief for Bollywood actor Sonu Sood, the Bombay High Court on Monday granted protection to the actor from any coercive action till January 13. Sonu approached the Bombay High Court challenging the police complaint filed by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for converting his six-storied residential building into a hotel without due permission.
Going by the reports of ANI, "Bombay High Court adjourns hearing in a case related to BMC issuing notice to actor Sonu Sood for illegal construction at his residence, till January 13. The Court has also granted protection to the actor from any coercive action till January 13."
In the complaint given by BMC, it has been said that Sonu Sood has converted the Shakti Sagar Building on AB Nair Road in Mumbai into a hotel without permission.
Shakti Sagar is a residential building and cannot be used commercially. It is punishable under section 7 of the Maharashtra Region and Town Planning Act. The BMC has accused Sonu Sood of increasing the portion of the building, changing the map, and changing the usage.
