The Bombay High Court on Thursday reserved the order in an application filed by Sushant Singh Rajput's sisters seeking quashing of FIR filed by Rhea Chakraborty. Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty had filed an FIR against Sushant Singh Rajput's sisters Priyanka and Meetu. Rhea in her complaint had stated that Sushant passed away five days after he obtained a prescription wherein “he was unlawfully prescribed psychotropic substances at the behest of his sister Priyanka”.
To counter this, Sushant sisters Meetu and Priyanka have filed a petition to quash the FIR filed by Rhea Chakraborty.
Sushant's family lawyer Vikas Singh landed in Mumbai on Thursday and also appeared to fight the case.
Appearing for Sushant's family, Vikas Singh said to the Bombay High Court, "The real reason for the FIR was some medicines that were being prescribed by his sisters but she has never taken that stand. She has not said she came to know about it in September. She admits she knew about it since June. These medicines that she is referring to could have been referred to by then doctors through telemedicines as per the ICMR telemedicine guidelines."
"The FIR is a counter case. The way she has listed the events points out chain of events pointing out some other accused and then there are other events claimed which point out other accused. But then this is part of the same investigation which is being conducted by CBI.There seems to be no evidence against us. This is evident from the affidavit filed by CBI," added Singh.
Countering this Maneshinde said, " I pointed out to his household help that he was mixing narcotic substances with the medicines that he was taking. It was going to be a dangerous cocktail. I was aware that he was taking medications and I had an altercation with him on that, but I was not aware of the prescription. When the prescription was leaked in social media, I realized it was on the advice if his sisters. So I realized that it could be a cause of his suicide. I have said in my complaint, that these medicines were prescribed by a doctor who had never prescribed him before."
The Bombay High Court finally reserved the order and asked all the parties to file their written submissions within a week.
