Amazon, Flipkart, Zomato, Swiggy and various othere-commerce entities have been accused of 'daylight robbery' by theConfederation of All India Traders (CAIT).
CAIT has accused e-commerce giants for violation ofmandatory display of country of origin, manufacturing, sellers details onproducts as per norms under Consumer Protection (E-commerce) rules, 2020, LegalMetrology (Packaged Commodities) Act, 2011 and guidelines of Food Safety &Standards Authority of India.
In a letter sent to Union Commerce Minister, Piyush Goal,CAIT has written, ""It is a case of daylight robbery of e-commerceentities in India and therefore demand immediate action against the erringe-commerce portals and online mechanism providers."
Asking for an action against these e-commerce giants, theNational President of CAIT, BC Bhartia and the Secretary General PraveenKhandelwal had said these e-commerce giants were violating the norms of theabove acts and guidelines.
