Captain Amrinder meets Amit Shah ahead of Punjab Assembly Election results, says we discussed Punjab, not polls
Former Punjab Chief Ministerand Punjab Lok Congress president Amrinder Singh met the Union Home MinisterAmit Shah in the national capital. The meeting is considered important as it happened just before the results of the Punjab assembly elections coming on March 10. The meeting lasted for around a quarter of an hour.
Captainquit the Congress and contested in the elections in alliance with BhartiyaJanata Party and Sanyukt Akali Dal for the 117 seats. Captain said that hediscussed the latest condition of Punjab with the Union Home Minister. It was ageneral meeting and the formation of the government will be discussed after theresult of the elections.
When hewas asked about the issues discussed in the meeting, he refused to revealanything from the meeting. He said we had a general discussion on the situationin Punjab, not on elections. He was also asked about the discussion regardingNational security, he refused to reveal it.
Onquestions regarding the performance of their party and the results of theelections, he said that he cannot comment on it as he is not a prophet. ThePunjab Assembly Elections were held on 20 February and Captain’s Party Punjab LokCongress came forward in alliance with Bhartiya Janata Party. The results areyet to be announced.
