Thecentre government has clarified that it has no plans to impose a nationwidelockdown and the states and UTs must adhere to the measures suggested by thehealth ministry in order to control the spread.

Thecenter has issued an advisory for May month to prevent the spread of novelcoronavirus pandemic. In the recently generated directive issued on Friday, theCenter has ordered states and union territories to create local containmentzones in districts to prevent the spread of the virus.
Underthe new guidelines, the government has asked union territories and states toidentify the districts with a 10 percent Covid19 infection rate or more than60% bed occupancy rate in the last week. Any district meeting these standardswill be turned into intensive and local containment zones.
Thecountry has crossed the three million mark on April 29 and has reported 386,452fresh covid cases in the last 24 hours and around 3,498 patients lost theirlives to coronavirus.
