Soon after Punjab Chief MinisterCapt Amarinder Singh virtually launched 56 services newly added to the SewaKendras, the Chief Secretary Ms Vini Mahajan handed over certificates to fivecitizens who availed the new online services in the state on Tuesday.
With this, the total number ofcitizen centric services made available at the Sewa Kendras has gone up from271 to 327 pertaining to different departments in the state.
Handing over the certificates tothe first five beneficiaries -- Dhairya Agarwal from Mohali, Neeraj Kumar fromLohgarh (both learning licence), Ashu Jallal from Majri (residencecertificate), Inderpreet Singh from Kharar and Ramandeep Rathor from Majri(both marriage certificate) -- at her office, here this evening, the ChiefSecretary said 56 new services have been added to the portfolio of the SewaKendras to bring more transparency and efficiency in the delivery of citizencentric services.
“It will further streamline thepublic delivery system in a seamless manner and would enable the citizens toavail all essential services under one roof,” she said.
Ms Mahajan further said the stategovernment led by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh was committed to providepublic delivery services to the people in a time-bound and hassle-free manner.“The accountability, transparency, and responsiveness in the public deliverysystem at all levels will also be ensured,” she asserted.
The Chief Secretary said theaddition of new services from various departments in the Sewa Kendra wasanother milestone in ensuring the citizen centric services to the people closeto their doorsteps and without any inconvenience. She said Punjab was the onlystate in the country to evolve such a mechanism for the convenience of thepeople under the governance reforms.
Ms Mahajan said that strenuousefforts were already afoot to further facilitate the people in their routineadministrative works in the state.
Director Governance Reforms MrParminder Pal Singh and other officialsfrom the Department of Governance Reforms were present on the occasion.
