Everyone in the country is celebrating Mirabai Chanu's victory at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Ankita Konwar who is a fitness enthusiast, recently turned to social media to call out individuals who were celebrating Mirabai Chanu's victory at Tokyo 2020 for being hypocritical.

Northeastern Ankita Konwar , Milind Soman's wife, wrote about the grim reality. People now celebrate a northeasterner's achievement when they represent India and win gold, but they are still subjected to racism and abuse, according to Konwar. She spoke on how people from North East India are only deemed Indian until they win gold and spoke out against prejudice. She shared her encounter with prejudice in a touching post on social media.

Indian weightlifter Saikhom Mirabai Chanu just earned a silver medal in the Tokyo Olympics. Chanu, a Manipur native, had lifted 87 kg in the snatch and 115 kg in the clean and jerk.

Her victory was greeted with joy across the country, and Chanu now has a chance to win gold as gold medalist Hou Zhihui is being examined by anti-doping officials.

Ankita Konwar had previously made headlines when she spoke about shattering the stereotype surrounding her and Milind's age gap.
