CPSCM Suresh Kumar virtually reviews progress of pro-people schemes in Jalandhar

He directed officials to complete ongoing projects within stipulated time, and Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar informed that with completion of 956 works under SVC-1, city has finished 99.2 percent development projects

Withcompletion of 99.2 percent projects under Smart Village Campaign phase-1 andcommencement of 2019 works under phase-2, Jalandhar district has emerged one ofthe leading districts in state to complete these projects within timeline.

Participatingin a state-level virtual review meeting chaired by Chief Minister’s ChiefPrincipal Secretary Suresh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said thatdistrict administration was working round the clock to ensure time-boundcompletion of the development projects.

Divulgingmore, he said that under Smart Village Campaign Phase-1 as many as 956 projectshad already been completed in the district at an outlay of Rs. 43 Crore.Similarly, under Phase-2 2019 works have been initiated out of a total of 2047sanctioned projects, which will be accomplished at a cost of Rs. 53 Crore. Headded that the construction of as many as 58 model playgrounds had been startedin the district of which a total of 14 model playground were completed so farwhile work on remaining ones was going on full pace.

Thedeputy commissioner said that under Mahatma Gandhi sarbat Vikas Yojna a totalof 184183 beneficiaries had been assisted with the benefits of variouspro-people scheme of Captain government. Mr. Thori mentioned that the districthas achieved 145 percent of its target under Ghar-Ghar Rojgar Scheme byensuring maximum registration and placement in the district.

UnderUrban Environment Improvement Program (UEIP), the deputy commissioner said thata total 238 development projects had been completed at an outlay of Rs. 2024.6Lakh in phase-1 and a total of 503 projects were approved by the stategovernment under phase-2 out of which as many as 60 projects at a cost of Rs.464.28 Lakh were underway.

Thedeputy commissioner reiterated that the administration was extending requisitebenefits to eligible beneficiaries so that they could take full advantage ofstate government’s schemes.

Prominentamong others present on the occasion included Additional Deputy Commissioner(Development) Vishesh Sarangal, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) JasbirSingh, SDMs Rahul Sindhu, Jai Inder Singh, and Dr. Sanjiv Sharma.
