DC Bats For Maximum Skill Training To Youngsters At CIHT To Eliminate Unemployment From Jalandhar

DC also urges aspirants to join this centre for acquiring latest technical knowledge of various industries

Stressing the need for maximum skill development training to youngsters, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori today called for coordinated efforts to eliminate unemployment from Jalandhar.

During his visit to Centre Institute of Hand tools Jalandhar, the DC said that the centre has the potential to emerge as a beacon for skill development and employment generation through latest training to its students. He said that the centre has a wide range of engineering based courses comprising various trades like electrical, mechanical, computer engineering, CNC, CMM, manufacturing of hand tools, auto-parts, and others. Principal CIHT Dr. Sarabjit Singh, Deputy Director (Training) PK Verma while welcoming the deputy commissioner said that there are as many as 26 different courses are being offered to students here, which aimed at imparting hands-on training of latest machineries being used by various industries. The centre was not only providing quality training but also ensuring employment opportunities to its pass-outs, they said, adding last year over 25000 students have passed out from this centre with 600 students currently getting training here.

On this occasion Assistant Director Workshop Training M.R. Sallan, In-charge Forge Shop M K Dixit provided insight into the various facilities at this centre.
