DC Patiala reviews spike in Covid-19 cases, urges people to take precautionary measures to prevent contagion

Asks Police to issue challans for not wearing masks

Deputy CommissionerPatiala Mr. Kumar Amit  has urged thepeople to take regular precautions in the wake of spike in COVID cases.He saidthat any negligence towards pandemic could be fatal for us.

Reviewing the increasein the number of COVID cases in the last three days, the Deputy Commissionerdirected the health authorities to increase the contact tracing of COVIDpositive patients. He asked all the SDMs of the district and the policeofficials to take strict action against those who did not wear masks and saidthat challans should be issued to the offenders.

Mr. Kumar Amit alsocalled upon the general public to dial 104 or visit nearest health centers formedical help, if any one having any symptoms of cough, cold or related toCOVID.  He said that a little bit ofnegligence could be fatal for us. Referring to the increasing number of cases of COVID-19 infection inPatiala district over the last few days, Mr. Kumar Amit asked the residents ofPatiala to cooperate the health officails and district administration toovercome the spread of pandemic as they had done earlier to curb it.

Amongst the officialswho attended the meeting, included Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development)Dr.  Preeti Yadav, SDM  Dudhansadha Ankur Deep Singh, SDM  Patiala Charanjit Singh, MedicalSuperintendent of Rajindra Hospital Dr. H.S. Rekhi, Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Parveen Puri, Deputy Medical Commissioner  Sajila Khan, Dr.   Jatinder Kansal, Dr.  Sachin Kaushal, Dr.  Sumit Singh and Dr.  Nidhi Sharma.
