TheDeputy Director Local Government (DDLG) Darbara Singh on Tuesday took the stockof the pace and progress in the work of ongoing developmental projects invarious towns of the four districts and also reviewed the functioning of theMunicipal Councils.
Presidingover a meeting at Circuit House, Singh said that the work of replacing streetlights with LED lights has been completed in four Municipal Councils anddirected other remaining councils and panchayats to ensure early completion.
DeputyDirector further added that the sterilization of stray dogs’ is running only in theJalandhar region and 5902 dogs in 16 towns have already been sterilized. Healso issued directions to the concerned councils to complete the project intheir areas as soon as possible.
Healso assessed the program of disbursing loans to the street vendors anddirected the councils to ensure all applications of the street vendors can bemade online in the next three-days.
DarbaraSingh also informed that towns of Jalandhar region have already been declaredopen defecation free. He also took thestock of the recovery of property tax, building fees, water supply, and sewagebills, and others.
