Delegation of MSME Industries calls on Chairman Pawan Dewan in Ludhiana

The delegation handed over a memorandum to the Chairman outlining the challenges being faced by the MSME Sector.

A delegation of MSME Industries, Ludhiana under thebanner of United Bicycle and Parts Manufacturers Association today called onPawan Dewan, Chairman, Punjab Large Industrial Development Board at his officeand handed over a memorandum regarding the demands of the industries.

The memorandum outlines the challenges facing the MSMEsector. Those who say that PSPCL PIU and imposes heavy fines on the industrythrough 2 part tariffs. According to him, a recent survey has revealed that ason March 31, 2019, there were around 1 lakh MSME industries in Ludhiana andthese industries had a credit of Rs. 24.50 lakh.

As a result, MSME units have come down to 90,000, whilecredit has increased to around Rs 37 lakh.In this regard, he emphasized theneed to sensitize the MSME industry to seek clearance from PSPCL and urgedPSPCL to extend the PIL till March 31, 2022 by waiving the amount of thispenalty. Similarly two part tariff should be replaced with single tariff andinclusive of all expenses and taxes should be Rs. 5 per unit.

Chairman Pawan Dewan listened attentively to the issuesraised by the industry representatives and assured to talk to the ChiefMinister Charanjit Singh Channi regarding the same. He said that the ChiefMinister had already given a lot of concessions to the industries and anyshortfall would be rectified soon.

The delegation also included Senior Vice PresidentGurcharan Singh Gemco, Manjinder Singh Sachdeva, Avtar Singh Bhogal, InderjitSingh Navyug former President and Ravi Verma.
