Delhi zoo to reopen today, Check out the updates, ticket price and regulations

Prior to the lockdown, the zoo was updated, and had added new birds as well as animal species.

The Delhi zoo, alsoknown as the National Zoological Park is going to open its entries today after3 months, they have planned to make it a 2 shift plan which will be 4 hourseach. To commence with they are planning to open up the visit of only 3,000visitors at a time, providing 1,500 slots each in one shift.

The booking of thetickets will be only allowed online, and no physical sale of tickets will beheld or permitted. The booking was open 24 hours prior to the opening of thezoo.

The visitors alsohave the chance to book the entry tickets through the QR code which isdisplayed at the entrance. The cost of the tickets will be INR 40 for adults, INR 20 for children, and INR 100 for foreigners. The morning shift will be from 8 am to 12 noon, andthen there will be a break of one hour, after which the second shift will startfrom 1 pm to 5 pm.

The main reason forkeeping a break in between shifts is for disinfecting and sanitizing the zoo.Prior to this, the zoo was first opened on April 1, but only after 2 weeks, ithad to be shut down because the second wave had hit India.

In January, the zoo wasnot able to open up because of the first case of bird flu and after the testdropped negative they thought of reopening the Zoological Park. Prior to thelockdown, the zoo was updated and had added new birds as well as animalspecies, increasing the count from 83 to 88. Currently, the total number ofspecies is over 99.

The authorities havestated that the visitors will be reminded of the Covid guidelines, which willinclude social distancing, and wearing masks. The National Zoological park idsalso planning to add an Asiatic dog, 2 tigresses, a dhole, and a lion in exchangeof a hippopotamus.
