Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has beengranted two-day parole to meet his ailing mother, a senior prison officialsaid.
The development came a day after Gurmeet Ram Rahim, who isundergoing a 20-year jail sentence for raping two followers, sought parole of21 days to look after his mother in Gurugram.
Although no official statement has been received from HaryanaPolice and Sirsa district administration in this regard, the sources say thatRam Rahim accompanied by heavy police force has reached his Gurugram FarmHouse, to see his ailing mother.
A senior police official on condition of anonymityinformed that he has been given a parole as every prisoner has a right to seekparole in case of family emergency. The police and administration aftermeasuring all the pros and cons, have decided to grant him parole, and therewould be threat to law and order situation.
Meanwhile, this is the second time Dera Sacha Sauda chiefhas been given a day-long parole. Earlier, on October 24, 2020, he was giveparole for the same reason i.e. to meet his mother, who was admitted in aGurugram hospital.
