The nation is battling against the second disastrous waveof coronavirus which has now claimed more lives than the first wave. The newsof Covid-19 overwhelming cases, deaths, and collapse of health infrastructureis all over the world and now another thing has made to this horrific list.
On May 10, some 40-45 Covid suspected dead bodies werefound near the banks of the sacred river Ganga in Buxar, Bihar. Visuals of thebloated and decomposed bodies have been doing rounds of the internet sinceearly evening which has again filled people with panic.
It may be noted here that these gruesome images of deadbodies floating in the river are actually exposing the havoc this virus haswreaked in India. What added to the horror of residents is the piling up of bodieson the banks.
The incident took place on the banks of the river in theChausa town of Buxar, Bihar which shares a border with Uttar Pradesh. Moreover,it was the residents who rung the alarm bell for the local administration tocommence the probe.
According to the local administration officials, theseCovid suspected bodies floated down from Uttar Pradesh after their relativewere not able to find space either to bury or cremate them.
Ashok Kumar, an official taking cognizance of the situation at Mahadeva Ghat in Chausa said, “Some 40-45 bodies were seenfloating after they were thrown by someone.”

It may be noted here that an official claims that thisbody count could be near 100. Also, these bodies are floating in the river forat least five to seven days.
However, now blame game has erupted between Uttar Pradeshand Bihar administrations to investigate where the bodies are from.
Another official KK Upadhyay said, “We are disposing ofthe bodies as we don’t have a tradition of throwing them in the river.”
Also, in a visual, dogs were seen wading near the bodies.According to some reports, officials have asked the localites to clean up thebodies for Rs 500.
Earlier on Saturday, several partially burnt bodies wereseen floating in the Yamuna at Hamirpur town.
India since past few weeks is recording over three lakhCovid cases and has hit record deaths, over 4,000, last week.
