Jalandhar, January 24-The Commissionerate Police have made elaborate arrangements to ensure foolproofarrangements for the security during the Republic Day celebrations on January26 at the local Guru Gobind Singh Stadium.
The Commissioner of PoliceGurpreet Singh Bhullar today finalized the security arrangements for thefunction at the venue. He said that Jalandhar Commissionerate Police have madeelaborate security arrangements in the city in wake of the ensuingcelebrations.
Bhullar said that thesecurity has already been beefed up and the entire area around the venue of theevent has been cordoned off by the Police.
The Commissioner ofPolice further said that around 1000 Police officers/ officials have beendeployed to keep a strict vigil in wake of the Republic Day celebrations.
He said that CCTVcameras have been installed at the venue for keeping a regular check-in andaround the stadium. Likewise, He said that security has also been enhanced inthe city to check any sort of anti-social activity.
The Commissioner ofPolice said that round the clock vigil was being kept in the city for whichvarious patrolling parties of the Police officials have been set up.
Likewise, he said thatsenior officers have been instructed to conduct night domination in the city tokeep a strict eye on law and order situations.
Bhullar said that acontrol room has been set up at the stadium by them to regularly monitor thesituation.
Likewise, theCommissioner of Police said that regular anti-sabotage checking was being donein and around the stadium beside the deployment of the firefighting and medicalteams.
Meanwhile, he also helda meeting with senior officials at the stadium and took stock of the securityarrangements at the ground level. He also passed on necessary directions to theofficers/ officials for the smooth conduct of this mega event.
He also talked with thepolicemen part of the contingent of Jalandhar Commissionerate Policeparticipating in the Republic Day function on January 26.
On the occasion, DeputyCommissioners of Police Gurmeet Singh, Arun Saini and others were present.
