The meeting of SiddhuLoyalists scheduled at Former MLA Rakesh Pandey’s residence is expected to be ashow of strength to press his claim for the Top post in Congress once again,according to the experts.
Ever sincethe electoral debacle of Congress in Punjab, Siddhu and his supporters havebeen putting the blame squarely on Charanjit Singh Channi saying that theelections were contested on 111 days tenure of Channi and with him only as of theface. So Channi is the one who has to be blamed for this debacle.
It must benoted that three days back 20 Siddhu Loyalists had another meeting like this atSultanpur Lodhi which was attended among others by Sitting MLA Sukhpal Khairaand Balwinder Dhariwal. In that meeting Navtej Cheema and Gurpreet GP, Thelosing candidates from Sultanpur Lodhi and Bassi Pathana respectively ventedtheir anger against Channi.
TraditionalCongressmen are opposing the appointment of Siddhu as party chief and leaders likeManish Tiwari and Sukhjinder Randhawa have openly raised questions about the appointment of Siddhu.
Siddhu isconsidered a Priyanka loyalist but he had refused to address a rally at Dhuriin her presence and also refused to campaign Pan-Punjab after Channi wasdeclared CM Face by Rahul Gandhi. Siddhu has never been in the good books ofInterim President of Congress Mrs. Sonia Gandhi.
