OmkarNath Sharma, a 79-year-old man helps the needy by providing them medicines freeof cost by asking people to provide him all the medicines that they don’trequire so that it may help the needy.
Asa matter of astonishment, he was hit up by a car in his youth at the age of 12after which he became crippled. He has worked as a technician in KailashHospital in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India, and now he is retired. Therealso he collected the unused medicines and distributed them among the poor.
Butthe main story started when he saw the collapse of the Delhi Metrounder-construction bridge in 2008 in East Delhi after which he realized theshortage of medicines among the people especially among the poor. During thisaccident, two people were killed and many were injured. The injured ones weretaken to a local hospital but were provided with nothing but basic medicalneeds which were not what they required at that time.
Theinjured and helpless people then came back to their homes to die as they had noexpenses to get cured. Seeing all this happening he was left in complete dismayand came up with an idea of collecting medicines for the ones who need them themost. Nowadays, no one care for people around them but this man. He took up thedecision and walks around 6-7 kilometres irrespective of his age and hisimpairment.
