WhatsApp Web was missing the features forcing users to pick their mobile phone, but soon no more.

WhatsApp, with its humble roots at a time Nokia mobiles weredominant, has now become embedded in the lives of almost every mobile user. Facebookknew the future of the inter-platform messaging service when it paid big cashfor its ownership.

WhatsApp made available a web-based interface to augment itsmobile application. Thus, having your WhatsApp with your work computer is aseasy and discreet as opening a new web browser tab. The advantages of the web interfaceinclude the convenience of a physical large keyboard to quickly type messages, upload work files.

This convenience should not be overlooked as WhatsApp hasbecome the tool of choice among colleagues in offices, with remote teams.

If the users of WhatsApp could ask for something which theyfind missing from their mobile app, it would be voice and video calls, to individualsand conference.

A website, WABetaInfo, maintained to look into the upcomingupdates of WhatsApp has observed the in-progress implementation of voice andvideo calls, which obviously cost nothing more than the Internet data beingused.

The website has looked under the hood of the newly released WhatsAppupdate (updating to version 2.2043.7) and found implementation of the features, which were marked as being in beta stage of software development.

Beta stage in software development is used to mark those functionalitieswhich have their features completely implemented but have many known and unknownbugs, speed or storage issues, and may crash or result in user data loss. Dueto these reasons, a beta stage software is never released for general usage.

“We have already announced that WhatsApp was working onCalls. Today we are happy to announce new details, provided from the WhatsAppWeb 2.2043.7 update! WhatsApp is considering the idea to offer Voice and VideoCalls in the next few weeks, even if the development is in a beta-stage”, reportsthe website in an update.

The website claims that the feature should be made availablein a few weeks from now, so we can expect by early November.
