From Scindia to Meenakshi Lekhi, 21 new faces likely in Modi 2.0, Bihar tipped for lion's share

The reshuffle is likely to be dominated by Bihar with Janata Dal United making a comeback followed by BJP nominations from Bengal.

Anew look Modi government will be unveiled on Wednesday evening as 21 new facesfind their way into the Council of Ministers.

Thiswill be the first big reshuffle of Modi2.0 and the names have been arrived atafter much distillation and confabulations, looking at 2022 election scenariowith five states, including Uttar Pradesh headed for polls.

Thereshuffle is likely to be dominated by Bihar with Janata Dal United making acomeback followed by BJP nominations from Bengal.

Theprominent names include Jyotiraditya Scindia, Sushil Modi, Sarbananda Sonowal,Narayan Rane and West Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh who will be part of themassive reshuffle of the Union Cabinet.

Thenew Ministers in the Modi government who are likely to be sworn in includeformer Congress heavyweight from Madhya Pradesh, Jyotiraditya Scindia who isnow in the BJP, former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi.

Atthe time of writing, the following had gone to the PM's residence

BJPspokesperson and minority face Syed Zafar Islam is also tipped for a centralgovernment role. Also on the list are former Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal andformer Maharashtra CM Narayan Rane.

Alliancepartner and Apna Dal chief, Anupriya Patel from Uttar Pradesh are among theprobables. Ladakh MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal who impressed with his Parliamentspeech is also being considered.

Thereshuffle is being necessitated by some vacancies caused due to deaths like RamVilas Paswan and exits of Akali Dal and Shiv Sena. Upcoming elections in UP isa factor in the reshuffle and also the need to add some heft to government withthe entry of Bhupender Yadav, a strong organisational face.

FormerDelhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari is also among the probables. Along with Ghosh,Bengal MP, Locket Chatterjee and Shantanu Thakur are part of the contingent.

TheJDU is likely to get 3-4 berths from Bihar as the BJP has accepted NitishKumar's demand. The JDU will be represented by Lalan Singh, RCP Singh, RamnathThakur and Dileshwar Kamait and Santosh Kushwaha. Amidst the significant churnin Bihar, Pasupati Paras who rebelled against Chirag Paswan is getting acentral berth.

RajkumarRanjan Singh, MP from Manipur, former Union Minister from Karnataka, RameshJigajinagi are among the probables.

UttarPradesh will be represented by several faces, including Sakaldeep Rajbhar,Rajya Sabha member and Ajay Mishra, MP from Kheri.
