Rani Kamlapati railway station, earlier knownas Habibganj railway station, is a railway station in Bhopal City andpart of the West Central Railway. It is located in Habibganj, NewBhopal. It is India's first private railway station. On 13 November2021, Madhya Pradesh Government proposed the station to be renamedafter Rani Kamlapati.
These include the gauge converted andelectrified Ujjain-Fatehabad Chandrawatiganj Broad Gauge section, third line inBhopal-Barkhera section, gauge converted and electrified Mathela-Nimar KheriBroad Gauge section and electrified Guna-Gwalior section.
The redeveloped station has been renamedafter brave and fearless Queen Kamalapati of the Gond kingdom. "At 3 PMtomorrow, 15th November, the redeveloped Rani Kamalapati Railway Station willbe dedicated to the nation. Other initiatives relating to the railways sectorwill also be inaugurated which will benefit the people of Madhya Pradesh,"said a tweet from the official Narendra Modi handle.
With modern airport-like amenities, RaniKamalapati Railway Station was redeveloped at a cost of ₹450 crore underPublic Private Partnership mode in three years. Touted by the Railways as thefirst world-class railway station in Madhya Pradesh, Rani Kamlapati RailwayStation has been designed as a green building and also takes into account easeof mobility for disabled persons.
