Haryana under lockdown-like curbs from tomorrow – what is prohibited?

The Haryana Cabinet Minister Anil Vij announced that all non-essential gatherings are banned to help break the chain of Corona.

Lockdown-like curbs have been imposed in the state of Haryana.A feature of this is that the shops will stay closed from 6 pm on Friday.

Further, all non-essential gatherings have been banned and "anybodyholding any function within the prescribed limit will have to seek permissionfrom the concerned SDM".

The announcement of these curbs comes two days after thestate Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had assured migrant workers that thestate won’t go into lockdown again. The workers were rightly concerned abouttheir livelihood amidst the rising cases.

The spike in the infection cases and deaths due to thepandemic has been alarming for Haryana.

Yesterday, the state recorded the highest jump of 9,623corona virus cases and 45 deaths.

The total infected count of the state is 3,81,247 and thenumber of fatalities is 3,528.

The State Health Department informed that the followinglocations have shown the highest spikes yesterday: Gurgaon (2,988), Faridabad(1,339), Sonipat (960), Karnal (548), Hisar (664) and Panipat (548).

The latest deaths include five each from Faridabad, Sonipat,Hisar, Panchkula and Jind, and four each from Gurgaon, Karnal and Bhiwani.

The state’s Covid recovery rate is at 84.54%.
